Like the warehouse builder, the mart builder is a stored procedure generator that writes routines in a language appropriate to the database chosen (MS-SQL6.5, MS-SQL7.0, Oracle etc.) to cut a user defined mart from the warehouse.   The module operates iteratively via a graphical user interface and a business person is able to select variables from tables using drop down menus.  

The user is also able to (i) create new or derived variables, (ii) define the schema for handling blank or missing data and for checking data integrity, (iii) define relationships between variables etc.  Much of the functionality of this Mart Builder has already been built in the Warehouse Builder.    The final step of the Mart Builder takes the third normal form database and flattens it to a data mart for use by the Naxian Maintenance module or for export to other systems.
